One truck. Six countries. 4,100 kilometers. And one lasting purpose.
Gambia Garden has no vehicle of its own — reaching families in rural Gambia today means 300–400 km by motorcycle, sometimes days each way. The Messenger Expedition delivers a solution: a retired DHL delivery truck, driven roughly 4,100 kilometers from Portugal to The Gambia by Filip and Evan, carrying care packages and donated goods along the way. At the finish line, the truck becomes the full, permanent property of Gambia Garden — a France-registered nonprofit — helping a mission that has already reached 500+ people grow to three times that number. The full journey is documented on camera, not just to build awareness, but so every supporter can see exactly how their contribution is put to work, backed by official receipts and a final public accounting. The arrival is marked with a community soccer tournament in The Gambia, celebrating the mission with the people it serves in Pakalinding.
In his own words — Lamin D. Bojang, project coordinator of Gambia Garden.
Gambia Garden has no vehicle of its own. Most of our trips are done by motorcycle — in most cases we have to travel 300 to 400 km just to reach our destinations. Once, delivering aid to a remote village called Mankangsirah took almost three days.

In February 2023, Vincent Yaldoo and Andrew Daniels were contacted by brothers Mohammad and Ibrahim from the village of Pakalinding, seeking opportunity and friendship — a bond formed 4,563 miles apart. Vincent and Andrew then created Gambia Garden and funded farms, chicken feed, hospital costs, education and sport across rural Gambia. The Messenger Expedition gives this grassroots mission a permanent vehicle and a global stage.
